The commonwealth says 3 child deaths have been blamed on this season's influenza

Kentucky health officials say two more children have died from the flu, including one from the Bowling Green area. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

Officials say one child from the Barren River District and another from Jefferson County – which includes Louisville – succumbed to influenza.

That’s makes a total of three kids who have died from the flu in the commonwealth this season.

Kentucky Public Health Commissioner Dr. Steven Stack stresses “necessary precautions, such as staying up to date on vaccinations, washing hands regularly with soap and water, covering coughs and sneezes and staying home when sick.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has described this flu season as the worst in more than 15 years.
