The state of Indiana urges all of us to prepare for the spring storm season. As WNIN’s John Gibson reports, Severe Weather Preparedness Week is underway:
The Indiana Department of Homeland Security and the National Weather Service encourage residents to be ready for the most active time of year for severe storms.
Gov. Mike Braun proclaimed March 9th through the 15th the week for weather preparedness.
It will include a statewide tornado drill Tuesday morning.
Homeland Security Emergency Management and Preparedness Director Mary Moran (moh-RAN) says the time to figure out what to do when a tornado approaches is not when tornado sirens are blaring.
She says Hoosiers should have a tornado plan and practice that plan, so everyone knows where to go and what to do to stay safe.
