A new opportunity center opens its doors Tuesday on Evansville’s East Side. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:
Goodwill is conducting a grand opening of the center at the former Sears store at the north end of Washington Square Mall.
The non-profit says the new facility will offer solutions to critical barriers in the Evansville area like limited transportation and access to essential services.
The center will host community organizations on weekly “Partner Days”, focusing on services like utility assistance, affordable housing, healthcare, and mental health support.
Goodwill says its employment services team will also offer career counseling, résumé building, and job training -- which will include a three-week program focusing on soft skills, digital skills, and career development.
The grand opening of the facility is from 10am to 2pm Tuesday at 5001 Washington Ave.
