INDOT Erecting Speed Feedback Signs

INDOT

Officials say the goal is to slow drivers as they enter communities

Drivers in southwest Indiana can expect to see more electronic signs showing your current speed. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The Indiana Department of Transportation says it’s installing speed feedback signs in the Southwest District.

The goal is to encourage drivers to slow down on state roads when entering communities.

INDOT says each sign alerts drivers of their current speed compared to the posted speed limit.

Drivers are told to ‘slow down’ when their speed is above the limit.

The installation process is expected to be complete by mid-spring.

INDOT says the electronic signs are intended to alert drivers and won’t be used to issue speeding tickets.
