We may learn Wednesday just how much CenterPoint electric bills will rise. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
The Texas-based energy company says it’s finalizing its review of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission’s final order.
The commission unanimously approved CenterPoint’s rate increase request on Monday.
CenterPoint says the more than 200-page order includes modifications to what residential, business and industrial customers will pay.
The company says once the analysis is complete, it will share estimated bill impacts.
That may come Wednesday through an online news conference.
At least two sources believe the residential rate hike will be lower than the $35 a month increase reached through a reduction agreement last May.
The agreement was not endorsed by the Evansville City Council or the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor.
Mayor Stephanie Terry is among officials expressing disappointment in the IURC decision.
She pledges to continue to fight against future rate hikes.
