Schools have an opportunity to celebrate Earth Day with the help of state officials. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management is offering free hands-on classroom presentations to elementary students across the state.
IDEM staff will visit schools to talk about their careers and share STEM-based lessons on air, land, water, and recycling during the month of April.
Earth Day is April 22nd.
Teachers can choose from interactive presentations on recycling and reducing trash, how long trash lasts in landfills, watersheds and the water cycle, and air quality.
Classroom presentations are available for elementary schools and vary in length from 30 to 50 minutes.
Registration ends Feb. 21st.
Teachers can request a classroom presentation here.
