It calls for updating, modernizing and keeping residents safe

Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry has released what she calls a “forward-thinking Strategic Plan for city government.” WNIN’s John Gibson takes a look:

Terry, who has begun her second year as mayor, says the plan was developed with Crowe LLP and with input from city officials, employees, and nearly 800 residents.

It includes a mission statement that calls for serving the people of Evansville with “essential services that keep our community safe, healthy, and vibrant.”

A vision statement calls for the city to be “a vibrant, inclusive community where safety, opportunity, and connection empower all to thrive.”

The Strategic Plan calls for updating city policies, procedures and regulations; modernizing city technologies; and creating opportunities to connect with residents.

Mayor Terry says in the coming weeks, city officials and Crowe LLP will begin creating an implementation plan, which will include establishing performance metrics, establishing working groups, and developing implementation timelines.

Information about the progress will be shared here.
