It may be too cold to enjoy Garvin Park right now, but the city is looking ahead to warmer days and a new playground. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:
Evansville’s Department of Parks and Recreation has announced plans for a new playground with safety surfacing.
The city says it’s the first step in creating an Activity Zone in Garvin Park.

The project will be funded as part of the 24-million dollar bond approved by the Parks Board last year.
It’s also part of the Garvin Park Master Plan, which also calls for basketball courts, a new restroom building and/or a new shelter.
Work is expected to begin on the playground project later this year.
