Fire has destroyed a church in Princeton. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:
Firefighters were dispatched to the Princeton Church at Emerson and West Streets just before 2:00 Monday afternoon.
The fire spread quickly, the roof collapsed, and officials declared the more than century-old church a total loss.
There was no word of injuries.
A number of fire departments assisted the Princeton Fire Department and it took hours to extinguish the blaze in sub-freezing weather.
Crews also blocked traffic in the area.
The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office called the fire “devastating.”
There’s no word yet on how the blaze started.
