Body of Newburgh Man Recovered from River

File

Hunter Connor, 22, disappeared while hunting waterfowl in a kayak

Divers recovered the body of a missing Newburgh man from the Ohio River over the weekend. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

The Department of Natural Resources says the body of 22-year-old Hunter Connor was pulled from the river in Spencer County.

Investigators say Conner was waterfowl hunting near Grandview on Friday, when the kayak he was in capsized as he tried to retrieve a duck.

Initial searches of the water surface and bank searches on Friday were not successful.

Divers resumed their search on Saturday and recovered Connor’s body.

Indiana Conservation Officers urge boaters to always wear life jackets on and near the water.
