A vehicle parked along W Maryland Street was struck by falling tree limbs during the Sunday night storm.

The City of Evansville and Vanderburgh County will announce the location soon

The City of Evansville and Vanderburgh County are planning a debris drop-off site for trees and limbs damaged during Sunday’s winter storm. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The mayor’s office says the location will be announced soon and the debris collection will start Friday, January 17th.

The drop-off site will accept trees, tree limbs and shrubs that can be cut into firewood or chipped into mulch.

Leaves, grass clippings, regular yard waste and trash will not be accepted.

To access the drop-off site, residents must bring proof of city or county residency, like a driver's license or ID card.

Storm debris from commercial establishments won’t be accepted.

Meanwhile, the city’s Christmas tree disposal service has been extended through January 17th.

Republic Services will continue to pick up Christmas trees from city residential customers.

They should be placed on the ground next to the trash carts.

More: After January 17th, Christmas trees must be placed inside the trash cart to be accepted.
