CenterPoint Energy says crews have reduced the number of customers without power in southwest Indiana to less than 20,000. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
It’s little comfort to those still in the dark and the cold but about 10,000 more customers have power Wednesday morning compared to Tuesday morning.
CenterPoint Vice President Shane Bradford more than 1,000 personnel have mobilized in the restoration effort.
Bradford says contractors and mutual aid crews have made “significant restoration progress” with about 65% of customers who were impacted by the winter storm back online.
The utility company says it expects to have all customers restored by the end of the day Friday, when another snow event is in the forecast.
The National Weather Service is predicting one-to-four inches of snow in the Evansville area on Friday, with the highest totals expected south of Evansville.
The agency says the forecast may be adjusted as the storm gets closer.
