CenterPoint hopes to have every SW Indiana customer online Friday, when more snow is expected

Utility crews continue to make progress restoring power after Sunday’s ice and snow. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

CenterPoint Energy says crews have reduced the number of customers without power in southwest Indiana to less than 15,000.

That’s down from more than 60,000 Monday morning.

CenterPoint says it intends to have all customers back on the grid by end of the day Friday.

Company Vice President Shane Bradford says more than 1,000 personnel have mobilized in the restoration effort thanks to contractors and mutual aid crews.

Another bout with snow is expected on Friday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Evansville area in effect from midnight Thursday through midnight Friday.

Forecasters say the area could see two-to-four inches of new snow.
