For the second time in three days, Evansville firefighters battled a restaurant blaze in the downtown area. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Central Dispatch sent firefighters to Madeline’s Fusion Restaurant at 2nd and Oak streets at about 5:25 Friday morning.
The first crew on the scene reported flames coming from the second floor of the two-story building.
Evansville Fire Department Deputy Chief Kim Garrett says two employees were inside the business and they safely evacuated.

The upper floor includes apartments but no residents or firefighters were injured.
It took more than an hour for crews to tap out the blaze.
Garret says the fire is under investigation.
The blaze at Madeline’s broke out less than 48 hours after a Christmas Day fire that heavily damaged Sauced on Parrett St.
There’s no word yet on how the Sauced fire started, but Garrett said there appeared to be no foul play.
