Drivers can expect a shift in the traffic lanes along Highway 41 in Evansville as soon as Thursday. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
The Indiana Department of Transportation says crews will shift southbound U.S. 41 traffic from the southbound lanes to the northbound side of the highway between Diamond Avenue and the Lloyd Expressway.
The lane switch is part of an ongoing reconstruction project and it will allow work to begin on the southbound side.
During this next phase of the project, INDOT says left turns from southbound traffic will be restricted at Morgan Avenue, Columbia Street and Virginia Street.
Southbound drivers wanting to turn left are urged to use the Lloyd interchange as a detour.
The new restriction is expected to remain in the place through May of 2025, depending on the weather.
