Union County firefighters spent much of Sunday battling a house fire in Sturgis. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Firefighters were dispatched to the 800 block of Monroe Street in Sturgis Sunday morning and found a house engulfed in flames.
Officials say the residents safely evacuated the burning home.
At least three fire departments battle the blaze.
Crews were on the scene from about 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
There’s no word yet on the cause of the holiday season fire.
The home was believed to be a total loss.
The Red Cross was called to assist the family.
