McCutchanville Fire Dept.

No one was hurt in Friday's fire at the Berry Global facility on Kansas Road

Berry Global says it plans to return to “normal operations” as soon as possible after fire damaged its facility on Kansas Road. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

Officials say workers evacuated the burning building and no one was injured in the three-alarm blaze Friday evening that damaged Berry's Evansville Closures facility.

Firefighters -- led by the McCuthanville Fire Department -- extinguished the fire in about an hour.

McCutchanville Chief Crystal Elliott said the blaze appeared to be related to a "piece of machinery."

There’s no word yet on an official cause.

The fire sent black smoke into the air over Kansas Road and State Road 57.

It was visible for miles around.

McCutchanville firefighters were assisted by German Township, Perry Township, Elberfeld and Ohio Township crews.
