A town hall meeting is set for next month to discuss animal overpopulation in Evansville. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Officials say Mayor Stephanie Terry will host the meeting Wednesday, January 15th, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the CK Newsome Center.
A panel of representatives from Animal Care & Control, the Vanderburgh Humane Society, PAAWS, and It Takes a Village will discuss a partnership to deal with the issue.
After their discussion, they’ll take questions from the public.
Mayor Terry notes Animal Control officers recently had to pull more than 50 dogs from a single home.
After the pandemic, animal overpopulation became a significant issue across the country.
The Town Hall will discuss the issue in Evansville, and what local organizations are doing to combat it.
