The $31.5 million facility was built near the airport terminal

Evansville Regional Airport has opened what officials call a state-of-the-art maintenance facility. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

The new 43,000-square-foot building is directly behind the EVV terminal, and replaces a complex of smaller and aging facilities further from the terminal.

EVV Executive Director Nate Hahn says the $13.5 million facility will “streamline airport maintenance operations and its efficiency, while also improving the overall infrastructure at EVV for safety and longevity.”

The new building and its proximity allow the airport maintenance department to consolidate to one central location and offers the team and their equipment direct airfield access to better serve airport partners and the flying public.

More: Features include overnight bunks for staff to stay during weather emergencies, shower and locker rooms, offices, conference and meeting rooms with a kitchen and expansive bays and storage for larger snow removal and other maintenance equipment.
