How will the planned merger of Amcor and Berry Global affect the local workforce? As WNIN’s John Gibson reports, it’s still unclear:
In a joint news release with Evansville-based Berry, the Swiss company says it will keep its global office in Zurich.
The release also says the combined company “expects to maintain a significant presence in Evansville, Indiana,"
The companies have not commented on whether any job cuts or gains are expected.
The $8.4 billion dollar transaction is expected to be finalized in mid-2025.
Amcor, like Berry, produces consumer packaging, containers and closures.
Amcor says the deal will result in its shareholders owning about 63% of the merged company and Berry shareholders owning about 37%.
