We receive a bonus hour this weekend. WNIN’s John Gibson has more on the time change:
The good news: we get an extra hour of sleep. The bad: it’ll be dark as a pocket by late afternoon for the next few months.
The Tri-State returns to Standard Time at 2 a.m. Sunday -- when we “fall back.”
That means you should turn clocks back one hour before going to bed Saturday night or when you wake up Sunday.
Many modern clocks make the change automatically.
Fire officials say the time change is a good reminder to check your smoke alarms.
We will lose the hour in March, when we return to Daylight Saving Time – or “spring forward.”
Some health groups, including the American Medical Association and American Academy of Sleep Medicine, have said it’s time to do away with time switches and stick with Standard Time because it aligns better with the sun — and human biology.
Some politicians have pushed for staying on Daylight Time.
