Some of the work for a planned I-69 Ohio River Bridge is wrapping up early. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
Officials say the lane restriction on northbound I-69 between U.S. 41 and Green River Road will end by Monday.
The restriction was expected to be up until late November.
Drivers are urged to watch for activity in the work area this Friday and Saturday as crews prepare to reopen the lane to traffic.
Traffic has been down to one lane since mid-July while crews widened and strengthened the inside shoulder to install a temporary barrier wall.
The barrier will separate interstate traffic from slow-moving construction traffic and improve safety during the bridge project.
Drivers may also notice slightly narrower, 11-foot travel lanes.
Drivers are urged to slow down, stay alert, and follow reduced speed limits in the area.
Dates of anticipated work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseen activities.
