Dry conditions have prompted Warrick County officials to issue a burn ban. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The ban is in effect for all of Warrick County.
The proclamation states “no person shall set, start or attempt to set or start an open fire within the county during the duration of the declared emergency.”
Exceptions can be made if a permit is obtained by the fire department with jurisdiction in the county.
The National Weather Service has recorded very little rain in Evansville this October.
The U.S Drought Monitor shows much of southern Indiana is “abnormally dry,” while much of northern Indiana is in a moderate-to-severe drought.
