City Leaf Pick-Up Starts Next Week

EWSU

EWSU asks residents to follow guidelines

As leaves begin to fall, the city of Evansville is preparing to pick them up. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility says the leaf collection service will be available to residential customers starting Monday, October 28th, through Friday, December 13th.

The agency says residents who pay for trash and recycling with their monthly water and sewer bill can place bagged leaves next to the curb and Republic Services will pick them up on your regular trash day.

The EWSU says leaves must be in biodegradable plastic or paper leaf bags or in containers; the bags must be in manageable, organized piles; and they should be placed near the trash cart.

The city also asks that residents not put the leaf bags out days in advance.

Officials note some residents are not eligible, including apartment complexes, mobile home communities, business and commercial customers, and people who live outside the Evansville city limits.

The heavy trash service is also temporarily suspended during the leaf pickup.
