The West Side Nut Club Fall Festival opens Sunday with a Family Day at Franklin St. and 10th Avenue, before the fest gets underway in earnest on Monday. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:
The 103rd Fall Festival is a major community fundraiser with more than 120 non-profits operating food booths all week long on W. Franklin St.
Festival-goers will find a variety of food items for lunch and dinner including pronto pups, corn on the cob, caramel apples, funnel cakes, and elephant ears.
Carnival rides for kids of all ages can also be found at the festival.
And in recent years, the Nut Club’s half-pot drawing has become a wildly popular part of the event, with this year’s goal $2 million.
The club began selling half-pot tickets before the festival and they will be on sale at the fest until 7 p.m. Saturday.
The winning number will be announced online.
METS is providing a lunch shuttle between Downtown Evansville and the festival Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The bus leaves the Back 40 parking lot by the CK Newsome Center and from the front of the Civic Center every half hour with service to the corner of Franklin St. and Wabash Ave.
More: The Fall Festival Half Pot topped $250,000 before the festival officially opened Monday morning.
