Ground Broken for Henderson Distillery

File

The $5 million project will renovate the city's former power and light campus

Ground is broken for a new distillery in Henderson. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Officials celebrated the start of construction for the Henderson Distilling Company.

Governor Beshear’s office says founders Andrew and Meredith Powell will rehabilitate the former Henderson Municipal Power & Light campus in downtown Henderson as part of this project, revitalizing two longstanding facilities in the community.

Plans also call for a new building on the campus, with bourbon barrels stored in a renovated building and a visitor center facing Main Street.

The more-than-$5 million project is expected to create at least a dozen full-time jobs.

The operation will include a full-production distillery, as well as tourism and retail space, and is expected to open in early 2025.

Ground and site work have already begun.
