Local NCAAP Fights Project 2025

NCAAP

At a forum Thursday evening, the Evansville branch offers alternatives

The Evansville Branch of the N-double-A-C-P is conducting a forum Thurday evening concerning Project 2025. As WNIN’s John Gibson reports, the session starts at 6 p.m. at Greater Hope Church on Lodge Avenue:

The local branch of the civil rights group echoes a line from the Harris campaign: “we are not going back.”

It’s in response to the Heritage Foundation’s blueprint for what the group would like to see from the next conservative U.S. President.

Former President Trump has distanced himself from Project 2025.

The NAACP calls the plan a “manifesto that seeks to undermine our progress, dismantle democracy, and take us back to a time when we did not have a vote or a voice.”

The civil rights group is offering its own ideas for America’s future, including higher wages, investments in schools, and progress in the criminal justice system.
