Owensboro Air Show Set For This Weekend

Owensboro Air Show

The Blue Angels are among the booked performers

The city of Owensboro is gearing up for its annual air show. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:

Some aircraft have already practiced before the show that takes to the skies this weekend.

The event officially gets underway tomorrow (Fri) evening at Owensboro Regional Airport, where attendees can see a wide range of parked aircraft.

Airborne performances are scheduled above the Owensboro riverfront Saturday and Sunday afternoons, weather permitting.

Invited performers include the Blue Angels, the F-35A Lightning Demonstration Team, Rob Holland, the Northern Stars, and the U.S. Air Force Wings of Blue.

The event will prompt the closure of the Blue Bridge for several hours Thursday through Sunday.

The Owensboro Air Show launched in 2012 to celebrate the renovated Smothers Park on the riverfront.
