Local elected officials will step into the boots of firefighters this weekend for fire and rescue training. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:
Fire Fighters Local 357, in partnership with the Evansville Fire Department, will host Fire Ops 101 on Saturday.
The event is designed to offer community leaders an authentic, first-hand understanding of the challenges and dangers that firefighters face every day.
Participants will suit up in full protective gear and work alongside seasoned firefighters for a range of scenarios, including live fire exercises, search and rescue operations, emergency medical response, and vehicle extrication.
The hands-on experience begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at the firefighters training tower on Buchanan Road.
