The City of Evansville will kick off their 2025 budget hearings with an overview by Mayor Stephanie Terry, Tuesday at 1 p.m. room 301 of the Civic Center.
She will present some budget highlights and examples of additions or deletions. Ideally it will be a balanced budget.
In 2023 then Mayor Lloyd Winnecke presented his balanced $400 million dollar budget.
After the mayor’s overview, individual department heads such as parks, the fire department and public works will present their budgets.
Overall there are 11 sessions on Tuesday, with multiple presentations in each.
Following Mayor Terry is a presentation on tax revenue by City Controller Robert Gunter. The day will end with the water and sewer utility update with Executive director Vic Kelson.
The city budget will be approved November first after possible cuts per the city council.
In September there will be joint sessions with the County Council which is in the county budget process. Vanderburgh County administration proposed a $139 million dollar budget last week.
Their budget will be approved in October. The city budget will be approved on November first.
