Area's First Displaced Left Turn Intersection to Open Next Week

INDOT

It's part of the revamped intersection of Indiana 66 and Epworth Road

The Evansville area’s first displaced left turn intersection is expected to open next week. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

The Indiana Department of Transportation says the planned opening of the new intersection at State Road 66 and Epworth Road will happen as soon as Tuesday.

INDOT says work to open the new intersection is expected to take a few hours to complete, depending on the weather.

As soon as next Thursday, a new signal will begin operating at the I-69 northbound off-ramp to eastbound State Road 66.

The new signal will work with the displaced left turn intersection to help control traffic.

The state is also planning displaced left turns as part of the Lloyd4U project in Evansville and Vanderburgh County.
