The City of Evansville has been declared a Clean Community. WNIN’s John Gibson explains:
Indiana Department of Environmental Management Commissioner Brian Rockensuess presented Mayor Stephanie Terry with a Clean Community sign and flag at the city’s Sunrise Pump Station.
Terry says the designation acknowledges the efforts the city has made to move toward environmental sustainability and climate resiliency.
The mayor notes there is still a lot to do saying “we are just getting started.”
Mayor Terry also acknowledged members of the city’s Clean Team that facilitated the city through the Clean Community process.
Evansville is Indiana’s ninth municipality – and largest by population -- to earn the Clean Community designation.
