Richard to Lead Area Preservation Efforts

Indiana Landmarks
Stephanie Richard

Stephanie Richard is named leader of Indiana Landmarks' Southwest Office

An Evansville native has been named the leader of Indiana Landmarks in southwest Indiana. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

Stephanie Richard has joined the organization as director of its Southwest Field Office in Evansville.

Richard will oversee the preservation group’s work to save historic places and revitalize communities in Gibson, Posey, Pike, Spencer, Vanderburgh and Warrick counties.

Prior to joining Indiana Landmarks, she worked as a project manager at Architectural Renovators, LLC, in Evansville and has served as a commissioner on the Evansville Historic Preservation Commission since 2018.

Indiana Landmarks President Marsh Davis says Richard brings a “deep knowledge of the region” and a strong background in historic preservation, renovation, and design.”

Evansville’s Hulman Building on 4th Street is among the organization’s ten most endangered sites.

The ten-story art deco building dates back to 1929.

An interested developer emerged two years ago but the plans fell through.

The Hulman Building remains on the market.
