The Vanderburgh County Health Department will host a Back-to-School Immunization Clinic later this month. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The clinic will be held Tuesday, July 30th from 2:30 to 6:00 pm at the Health Department at 420 Mulberry St.
It’s an opportunity to not only get students immunized but to help kids prepare for the new school year.
The health department says school supplies, vendors , and prizes will be onsite.
Pre-registration is highly encouraged to reduce wait times. You can register your kids for the clinic at vanderburghhealth.org
Walk-ins are required to bring shot records and insurance information.
Children are eligible to be seen if they have Medicaid, no insurance, or some private insurance.
Vaccines are due for all students entering kindergarten, 6th grade, and 12th grade.
Those entering other grades may need to catch up on vaccinations.
Parents are urged to contact your child’s healthcare provider to make sure they’re up to date.
The health department says immunizations are the best way to protect your child from serious diseases that can spread easily in the school setting.
