Evansville firefighters extinguished an early morning house fire. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Crews were dispatched to the house in the 500 block of S. Kerth Ave. just before 5:30 Thursday morning.
They reported a fire in the basement of the home.
Firefighters put out the flames and called for assistance from CenterPoint Energy after the blaze damaged a circuit box.
There was no word of injuries to people but Animal Control was requested for an injured cat.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
