The Lloyd4U initiative will close inside lanes for about a month

New lane restrictions are coming to the West Lloyd as soon as this week. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The Indiana Department of Transportation says crews will close the inside lanes of the Lloyd Expressway in each direction from near St. Phillips Road to east of University Parkway.

The month-long work will create crossovers that will be used in a future phase of the Lloyd4U project.

Work has already been performed on the shoulders of the West Lloyd as part of a series of Lloyd4U projects that will stretch from the Posey County line to Cross Pointe Boulevard through 2028.

The initiative includes removing the stoplights at the Lloyd and Vann and new traffic control systems like displaced left turn lanes, boulevard lefts, and reduced conflict intersections.

During constriction, drivers will also encounter zipper merges.
