A metals plant is expanding and creating jobs in Henderson. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Hydro Aluminum Metals is investing $85 million in its Henderson facility and adding 31 high-wage jobs.
Gov. Andy Beshear says Hydro’s investment will further support what he calls “the ever-growing and changing automotive market.”
Hydro plans to expand the Henderson plant by 80,000 square feet, bringing the total square footage to nearly 200,000.
The additional room will allow the company to introduce HyForge technology to the Henderson facility, following implementation of the casting technology at the company’s primary plant in Norway and recycling plant in Germany.
Beshear says he’s “thrilled” to see the technology make its way to Kentucky.
Hydro’s new HyForge cast house at the Henderson plant is expected to start operating in 2026.
