An inspection has led officials to place a weight limit on a bridge in western Kentucky. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a recent inspection by engineers resulted in a 10-ton weight limit on the US 60 Bridge at the Henderson-Union County line.
The restriction goes into effect immediately.
The new limit will not affect typical passenger vehicles but heavier vehicles will have to find a new route.
The transportation cabinet says there will not be a marked detour.
Built in 1943 over Highland Creek, the bridge carries about 6,000 vehicles between the two counties each day.
