The first of many Lloyd4U projects is expected to begin this week, starting on the West Lloyd. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
INDOT says crews will close the outside lane of the eastbound Lloyd between the Posey County line and Schutte Road.
During the first phase, known as shoulder strengthening, crews will reinforce the outside shoulder to make it strong enough to handle vehicles during future Lloyd4U traffic shifts.
Each section of paving will occur in two-mile sections moving eastward towards Barker Avenue.
This phase of work is expected to take about a month to complete.
Once work on the eastbound shoulder is complete, paving crews will move to the inside median.
That work is expected to take about seven weeks.
The $150-million Lloyd4U includes more than a dozen improvements projects from the Posey County line to Crosspoint Boulevard.
Changes will include displaced left turns lanes, new bridges, and the removal of stoplights at Vann Avenue.
