A National Weather Service survey team detected the damage from Wednesday's storms; county disaster declared

The National Weather Service says three tornadoes touched down in Daviess County, Kentucky on Wednesday. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

The Weather Service says a damage survey detected two EF-0 tornadoes in Daviess Co. along with straight-line wind damage.

The winds might have been as strong as 100 mph.

Officials also say a stronger EF-1 tornado briefly touched down near Rome, just southwest of Owensboro.

No injuries were reported.

Before the results of the damage survey were released, Daviess County leaders declared a disaster area.

The county says recovery efforts will likely top $475,000.
