Ascension-St. Vincent received a "B" from the Leapfrog Group

Deaconess Health System is celebrating some high marks. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Deaconess Midtown, Gateway and Henderson hospitals -- as well as Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper -- all earned an “A” in the Hospital Safety Grades from The Leapfrog Group

That’s a national nonprofit watchdog that assesses and assigns letter grades to hospitals across the country.

The grades are based on more than 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems in place to prevent them.

Deaconess CEO Shawn McCoy says the high marks reflect what he calls “the dedication and commitment of our entire team to providing exceptional care to our community.”

Meanwhile, Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville received a “B” in the Hospital Safety Grades from the Leapfrog Group.
