A Vincennes high school student has won the Eighth District Congressional Art Competition. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
U.S. Representative Larry Bucshon announced that Jaylee Farrar, who attends Vincennes Lincoln, won the competition with her drawing “Ike.”
It’s a depiction of a horse, which is posted at news.wnin.org
Jaylee’s winning piece was chosen from more than 80 submissions from across Indiana’s Eighth Congressional District.
The competition is part of a nationwide visual art event to recognize the artistic endeavors of high school students.
Jaylee will receive a roundtrip ticket to Washington, D.C. to attend the Congressional Art Competition Reception and will have her artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for a year.
