The W.C. Handy Blues & Barbecue Festival is set for June 12th – 15th at Audubon Mill Park on the Henderson riverfront.
The free festival celebrates the life, legacy, and impact of W.C. Handy, known as the “Father of the Blues.”
Handy lived in Henderson for about ten years from the late 19th Century into the early 20th Century.
The four-day festival in his honor begins with Family Night on June 12th featuring food trucks, family activities, and performer Vanessa Collier:

Thursday, June 13th, is Zydeco Night featuring Chubby Carrier & the Bayou Swamp Band:

Performances on Friday, June 14th, will be headlined by Big Head Todd and the Monsters:

Organizers say culinary delights include jambalaya, red beans & rice, and sausage on Zydeco Night and an array of tasty offerings all day Friday and Saturday.
