NWS: A tornado threat is expected Tuesday night into Wednesday

The Evansville area is again facing the risk of severe weather. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded the Tri-State to a Slight Risk of severe storms this Monday afternoon and night.

Forecasters say the main threats are large hail and 60 mile-an-hour winds.

The National Weather Service says storms will be isolated to widely scattered – meaning many areas will not see any storms at all.

Another bout of severe weather is expected Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Forecasters say tornadoes, damaging straight-line winds, and large hail may become a threat with those storms.

A half-dozen tornadoes were recorded in southwest Indiana two weeks ago, causing damage and knocking out electricity to thousands.

No injuries were reported.

Meanwhile, flood warnings continue on area rivers, including the Ohio.
