The service is scheduled to start in September

Flights between Evansville and Chicago will resume, but not until after the summer vacation season. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

American Airlines says it will resume twice-daily service between EVV and Chicago O’Hare on September 4th.

The flights will be aboard 50-seat jet aircraft.

Officials, including Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry, Vanderburgh County Commission President Cheryl Musgrave, and Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb, all praised the return of service.

Terry even presented American Airlines consultant Dale Morris a key to the city.

American suspended its Evansville-to-Chicago service in 2022.

United Airlines stopped its Chicago flights before that and pulled out of Evansville entirely.

Delta and American airlines offer service from Evansville to Charlotte, Atlanta and Dallas.

Allegiant Air offers various flights to Florida.
