The University of Evansville recently added elementary grades to their Transition2teaching program.

The winners are Lindsey Stine, Outstanding Elementary Teacher, Lindsay O’Brian Outstanding High School Teacher and Angie Oliver, Outstanding Building Principal

The University of Evansville (UE) holds the annual recognition. Each outstanding educator winner received a $1,000 cash prize and a surprise announcement within their school.

Noah Alatza, with UE, said educators have to embody "exemplary classroom teaching experiences."

"Whether that be grades K through 12, whether that be in their role as a building administrator. They really need to be embodying excellence and really preparing their students for college readiness.”

The winners are Lindsey Stine, "Outstanding Elementary Teacher," Lindsay O’Brian, "Outstanding Middle School Teacher," and Angie Oliver, "Outstanding Building Principal."

Alatza said the award celebrates their "remarkable contribution to education."

“We feel that it’s extremely important to recognize them. Not only because of their ability, you know, in the classroom, but also because it’s important to have that community recognition and really ensure that they feel valued, and they feel respected in their capacity as local educators.”

The winners will be recognized at a statewide celebration in Indianapolis at the end of April.

These awards are made possible through private and public sponsorships.

The Fourth educator will be named Friday.
