NWS Assessing Storm Damage

NWS Paducah
This map shows areas where tornadoes may have struck

The agency is trying to determine where tornadoes hit

The National Weather Service is surveying a number of Tri-State locations to determine where tornadoes may have hit on Tuesday. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

Officials from the Paducah office are checking at least eight locations, including a damage trail in northern Posey, Vanderburgh and Warrick counties, and another trail that includes Evansville, southern Warrick County and central Spencer County.

Locations in western Kentucky include northern Union County.

Weather Service forecaster Christine Wielgos asked emergency management agencies on Tuesday to contact her:

"The best way you can help us is if you had damage in your counties, if you can just send me an email that explains, okay, here's the damage, here's where it's located, just so I can quickly go there and figure out what’s goin’ on."

Tuesday’s storms damaged homes and businesses, toppled trees, and knocked out electricity to thousands of people.
