Vets for Peace to March on Good Friday

City of Evansville

The group and other activists are calling on the Evansville City Council to approve a peace resolution

A veterans group will march in Evansville calling for peace in Gaza. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:

Members of Veterans for Peace will gather at the Four Freedoms Monument at 3 p.m. on Good Friday and march to the Civic Center for a speakers rally.

The group says a contingent of activists, including members of the local Palestinian Solidarity Coalition, will take part in the event.

Veterans for Peace has asked the Evansville City Council to approve a resolution calling for a lasting bilateral ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, the release of all hostages, and unrestricted humanitarian aid.

The proposed resolution also condemns all forms of anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian racism, anti-semitism, and Islamophobia.

Vets for Peace notes dozens of other cities across the country have passed similar resolutions.
