DNR Stocking 10 Lakes with Catfish

Indiana Department of Natural Resources

The lakes include 2 in Evansville

If you like to fish, you may like this: The state of Indiana is stocking lakes with catfish, including two lakes in Evansville. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

The Department of Natural Resources says it will stock more than 2,000 channel catfish ranging in size from 10 to 14 inches in ten locations by this weekend.

They include Garvin Park Lake in Evansville which will receive 200 catfish and Diamond Valley Park Lake which will be stocked with 250 fish.

The DNR says the lakes are stocked every spring with catchable-size channel catfish, receiving three stockings between mid-to-late March and the first week of June.

The catfish daily bag limit per angler is 10, and there are no size restrictions.

Anglers ages 18 and older must have a valid Indiana fishing license to fish at the locations.

Anglers ages 17 and younger do not need a fishing license.

Licenses can be purchased online at on.IN.gov/INhuntfish.
