It's part of a huge investment by the aerospace company across the U.S.

GE Aerospace has announced plans to invest $650 million in its manufacturing facilities, including a plant in Madisonville. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

GE says it’s investing $6.7 million in the Madisonville facility for new tooling, refurbishing machines, and new materials for military jet, helicopter, and marine engines.

The aerospace firm says the western Kentucky plant will help boost its supply chain, increase production, and strengthen quality to better support GE’s commercial and defense customers.

The company is also investing $5 million in its Terre Haute plant and $5.9 million in its West Lafayette facility.

GE Aerospace plans to add more than 1,000 jobs in the U.S. but it’s not clear how many jobs may be added in Kentucky or Indiana.

GE Aerospace is making the huge investments as it prepares to become a standalone company.
